Intro

Taiwan franchise industry has been developing more than 60 years, has become the main business type nowadays. Franchise chain across many different scopes, including restaurants, convenience stores, beauty salons, laundry, and life service industry, etc. As Taiwan service industry gradually moves towards internationalization, the franchise industry has become one of the most promising industries in the future. According to the data from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Taiwan has one of the highest franchise densities in the world. Taiwan not only brings together franchise brands from all over the world, but also is the birthplace of many innovative brand by young. In addition, people are familiar with restaurants and tea chain brand, such as the Ding Tai Fung ,Chatime and 85° C daily cafe, the franchise brand also includes drug store, bookstore, spa aromatherapy, hairdressing salon, Internet printing, etc.

 

Scope of the Chain Industry

In 2020, there are 2,888 chain headquarters in Taiwan, with 113,158 franchised stores and 150 brands exported overseas. This shows that franchise industry has become a business model for enterprises to effectively expand their business scale and ensure service competitiveness through innovation.

 

Future Outlook

Taiwan franchising market is highly competitive. For the sake of better opportunities, most large-scale brand is moving towards internationalization.
