The Story of Yue Jian Shan

The brand name "Yue Jian Shan" originated from the second generation of the shawarma family, using the mother's surname "Yue" and the last character of the father's name "Shan." It was the meeting and encounter of the father and mother that led to the establishment of the present shawarma business.

"Yue" (Moon) and "Shan" (Mountain) are timeless and beautiful landscapes. Just like the moon and the mountains, Yue Jian Shan shawarma aims to operate sustainably. Therefore, the name "Yue Jian Shan" was conceived for the brand, symbolizing its commitment to longevity and continuous growth.

 

Brand History

Sharwarma originally from Germany, has spread  worldwide, but only Taiwan had made improvements and create its own unique flavor.

Yue Jian Shan Shawarma has been in the business since 1992. The initial brand was known as " Middleeast Shawarma ", which didn't have much distinctiveness compared to other shawarma stalls.

In 2018, the company decided to rebrand itself and change the name to “Yue Jian Shan Shawarma”. The brand was registered as a trademark and established in Taiwan. At the same time, Yue Jian Shan has started accepting franchise applications. As of May 2023, there are a total of 43 franchised stores in Taiwan.

 

The Origin of Shawarma

Explain from the name of Shawarma, Arabic saying, Arabic شاورما‎, English Shawarma, Turkish saying, Turkish rotary barbecue döner kebap, doner means rotation, kebap means barbecue, Taiwan is mainly called Shawarma Weimaraner.

There are three main sources of shawarma:

1. After immigrating to Germany at the age of 26, Turk Nurman (Kadir Nurman) invented the method of skewering the meat upright and wrapping it in bread or PITA. 3. The historical perspective can be traced back to the Jihad period. For the convenience of carrying food during the war, the mutton was inserted piece by piece on the machete, and then roasted with fire to eat, which gradually evolved into the way of using an iron rod today. .
