mGen - Methanol fuel cell power generator

mGen is a pioneering methanol fuel cell technology. We provide a complete solution that integrates mGen with batteries or solar into micro-grid.

Unlike gasoline or diesel, using methanol as a fuel to generate electricity reduces a large amount of carbon dioxide emissions and harmful emissions, improving insufficient battery life, and intermittent solar power problems.

 

mGen is high temperature proton exchange membrane (HT-PEM) based technology with operating temperature between 160-180 ° C. Fuel does not need to be purified after entering the system, so the power generation efficiency of the system can reach more than 40%, and the overall efficiency can be improved to 85% after heat recycle.

 

mGen is suitable for applications on 5G telecommunication base stations, off-grid electricity supply in remote areas, EVs or e-buses, as well as ships. In addition, fine-tune system parameters through remote monitoring is available, saving users time and costs.

 

mGrid - Micro-grid system

The capacity of the global optoelectronic industry has reached 53GW in 2015, 76GW in 2016, and nearly 99GW in 2017. In recent years, the production volume of solar cells was high, which has led to a significant reduction in installation costs and booming of solar power plants.

 

However, the intermittent renewable energy requires energy storage as a backup power for the entire system. The system, known as mGrid, operates in combination with mGen and batteries.

 

Multiple energy sources such as PV, mGen, and battery hybrid are primary power, and grid power is considered to be secondary. Under the same system architecture, the algorithm of energy management can also be revised so the excess electricity can be sold to the power company.

HRP - Hydrogen recycle & purification system

Nowadays, the semiconductor industry is booming. The amount of hydrogen used is huge, and the impact of hydrogen on the environment and the cost of the process and both high.

The exhaust gas produced from the semiconductor process has a high content of hydrogen, which cannot be recycled and generates waste heat.

 

HRP recovers hydrogen from exhaust gas, reducing the cost, dependence on fossil fuels as well as process costs and environmental impact.

 

Traditionally, tail gas treatment is usually handled by high-temperature combustion or dilution exhaust, which not only produces waste heat but also wastes hydrogen. The HRP solution proposed by hiPower uses gas separation technology to remove tail gas that cannot be reused. Separate, purify and recover hydrogen, and then supply it back to the manufacturing process to reduce production costs.
